To be able to replace the tiles (or icons) on your Windows 8 start page you will need some software. We recommend grabbing OblyTile, which can be found here.
After downloading and opening this program you will get a screen that presents you with several options. Before you’re getting started make sure to find a fitting tile for whichever program you’d like to create one for and save it somewhere on your computer where you can find it later.
OblyTile asks for a tile name. You can leave this blank, if you don’t this will be displayed as text at the bottom of the image.
Second you must enter a program path. This is usually the .exe file for a program and can most commenly be found in the c:/program files/ folder. For example C:Program FilesFileZilla FTP Clientfilezilla.exe for Filezilla.
The “tile image” and “tile small image” is the location of where ever you stored the image you downloaded from this website on your computer. After filling this in you can click on the “Create Tile” button and you should be all done.
